We thank you for taking the time to visit our blog.

My husband and I are a young, growing, Christian, military family. My husband is a Captain in The United States Marine Corps. I am a former Elementary school teacher. We are first time parents to a beautiful little two year old boy, with twin boys on the way! I am a stay at home Marine wife, who loves to bake, cook, sew and craft! I enjoy being a Domestic Engineer. The purpose of this blog is to document the story of our life and adventures as they take place.

We are honored to be serving our country and ask for prayer in our upcoming adventures. We have been blessed tremendously, and thank God everyday for all he has given us!

The Season of Thanksgiving

Today is the first day of November, which means it is the first day of the season of Thanksgiving! For today's Teach Me Tuesday post, I would like to share about The 30 Days To Being Thankful Challenge at Becoming A Strong Woman Of God . Sonya, at http://www.becomingastrongwomanofgod.com/ has put out this challenge. I will be contributing a guest post on November 17th.

November 1, 2011 : I am thankful for so many things; my salvation, my family, my friends . . .Today, one thing in particular stands out to me. As I was rocking my son to sleep. Tonight it hit me, as I was sitting in a glider in Robbie's darkened nursery, listening to praise music in the background. I won't have these days for long. Tonight, I cherished my time with Robbie as we went through his bedtime routine of bath, nursing and bed. Quite often, I am quick to get my little one off to bed so I can finish up household chores, put dinner away, blog etc.

As I rocked my little boy to sleep, he took in a deep relaxing breath, I felt his warm little body drift off to dreamland. The soft peach fuzz on his sweet little head brushed against my cheek. As I kissed him goodnight and tucked him into his crib until morning, I thanked the Lord for this wonderful gift!

So tonight, I am thankful for the small things in life . . . like rocking my baby to sleep.

Blessings,
Sarah

Wow! ten? You are a blessed saint! I agree with Loni, Sarah. I just turned around and you were graduating college and walking down the aisle with Rich, and then driving down the street to live in another state; waving goodbye to me. I don't know where the time goes. CHERISH every second...Mama Robin.
