We thank you for taking the time to visit our blog.

My husband and I are a young, growing, Christian, military family. My husband is a Captain in The United States Marine Corps. I am a former Elementary school teacher. We are first time parents to a beautiful little two year old boy, with twin boys on the way! I am a stay at home Marine wife, who loves to bake, cook, sew and craft! I enjoy being a Domestic Engineer. The purpose of this blog is to document the story of our life and adventures as they take place.

We are honored to be serving our country and ask for prayer in our upcoming adventures. We have been blessed tremendously, and thank God everyday for all he has given us!

Our 2010 Year In Review

Good morning Everyone!
Well, today is the last day of the year 201o, and I am reminiscing about this past year. I am sad to see 2010 go, but am anxiously awaiting all the joy and blessings that 2011 has to offer!
I have decided to document the Christensen's 2010 year wrap up by posting our Christmas letter from this year. So here goes!

Merry Christmas to all our family and friends!
We hope and pray that you are all well and enjoying this wonderful time of year! Here at The Christensen home we have had an exciting year full of many blessings and new changes from the Lord! Our most thrilling news came to us in August when we found out we were blessed to be expecting our first child! A baby boy named Robert William Christensen!
Our new little one is estimated to make his arrival on May 7th 2011! Rich and I couldn't’t be happier and are genuinely enjoying this time in our life!

We recently moved again! So goes the life of a military family. This time our much anticipated move was back home to California! We will be based at Camp Pendleton Marine Corps Base for the next two to three years, and we absolutely love every minute of it! We are currently living in beautiful San Clemente California, which is a lovely coastal beach town. Best of all, is the close one hour drive back to our home town to visit our parents.Which we do almost every weekend.

Rich is enjoying his work with a Light Armor Reconnaissance Battalion here at Camp Pendleton. He is about to begin a legal officers course in San Diego to further his training for the Marine Corps. Rich is delighted to be living back in sunny California. He loves living so close to the beach and surfs several times a week, both before and after work. Rich is expected to deploy to Afghanistan sometime in the winter of 2011. Please keep him in your prayers. He is very much looking forward to becoming a Daddy, and we are thankful to have him be able to be present at the birth of our child.

As for me, I have been taking in life her in Southern California! This past year I was accepted into The Junior League of Pensacola. Over the past several months I loved my work with JLP.
I recently transferred my league membership into the Junior League of Orange County, which is composed of a wonderful group of ladies who are so dedicated and committed to their philanthropic work. I am also involved in helping out where and whenever I can with Rich’s Platoon Family Readiness Officer at the base. A few months ago I took a course to become a Mentor/ teacher for a Marine Corps organization called L.IN.K.S. This. is a volunteer, team-mentoring program. Designed by Marine Corps spouses. The program offers an orientation to the Marine Corps lifestyle, helping spouses, Marines, children and family members understand and adapt to the unique challenges military life often presents. I thoroughly enjoy my volunteer commitments. It is so rewarding to be able to give back to the community! I spend my “me time” working on crafts, trying out new recipes and most of all preparing to be a new mommy reading everything I can to get ready for the baby!

Maverick, our cat is now two years old and in his short little lifespan has lived in 4 different states and traveled across 13 of the 50 states (during our last two moves). He prides himself in being one of the most well traveled cats he knows! For now Maverick is content being a beach cat.

Jesus is the reason for this marvelous season! No Christmas letter would be complete without thanking you all for your love and support! We are blessed to have each of you in our life and look forward to hearing how the Lord had been at work in your life this past year!
May God Bless you abundantly this Christmas and in the New Year!

Love,

Rich, Sarah, Baby and Maverick .
