We thank you for taking the time to visit our blog.

My husband and I are a young, growing, Christian, military family. My husband is a Captain in The United States Marine Corps. I am a former Elementary school teacher. We are first time parents to a beautiful little two year old boy, with twin boys on the way! I am a stay at home Marine wife, who loves to bake, cook, sew and craft! I enjoy being a Domestic Engineer. The purpose of this blog is to document the story of our life and adventures as they take place.

We are honored to be serving our country and ask for prayer in our upcoming adventures. We have been blessed tremendously, and thank God everyday for all he has given us!

It's been A While !

Hello Everyone!
It has been a few weeks since I have updated our blog, and a busy few weeks at that! Here is what is new with The Christensens in Florida. Rich was just given a start date this past Monday of when he will start Primary. We are so excited because it is much earlier then we had planned. Rich will be starting Primary on Monday June 28th, he will be in VT2 which is his squadron. Rich will be flying the T34-C while he is in Primary training. Primary is the third phase of flight school for Student Naval Aviators. Primary is often a six to nine month program. During Primary all SNA's (Student Naval Aviators) are assigned to a Primary Flight training program at NAS Whiting Field here in Milton Fl. Here SNA's learn to fly the T-34C Turbo Mentor. Primary teaches the SNA's the basics of flying, it is divided into three stages.
- Ground School aircraft systems, local course rules, emergency procedures)
- Familiarization (take-off/landing, limited maneuvers, spins)
- Basic Instruments (common instrument scans, used during maneuvers)
- Precision - Aerobatics (aileron roll, loop 1/ 2 Cuban Eight, barrel roll, wingover, Split S, Immelmann, etc)
- Formation (basic section flight, cruise formation flight)
-Radio Instrument navigation
- Night Familiarization
-Visual Navigation

At the end of Primary Rich will be told which aircraft he will be assigned to fly during his career as a Naval Aviator. This is done through a selection process. This selection process is based on his grades, scores and the needs of the military on the time of his selection.

I am including a video of Primary for our friends and family. Please keep Rich in your prayers during this next important phase of his career! We know our Lord is the head of all!

As for me.... I am SO excited. This past month I was officially invited and accepted by The Junior League of Pensacola as a new member for the 2010/2011 year!!! Our Junior League chapter calls themselves The JULEP's! I am so excited and proud to call myself a JULEP! The Junior League is a wonderful organization which will give me the opportunity to volunteer, and help others throughout the Pensacola community with a fabulous and interesting group of ladies!
