We thank you for taking the time to visit our blog.

My husband and I are a young, growing, Christian, military family. My husband is a Captain in The United States Marine Corps. I am a former Elementary school teacher. We are first time parents to a beautiful little two year old boy, with twin boys on the way! I am a stay at home Marine wife, who loves to bake, cook, sew and craft! I enjoy being a Domestic Engineer. The purpose of this blog is to document the story of our life and adventures as they take place.

We are honored to be serving our country and ask for prayer in our upcoming adventures. We have been blessed tremendously, and thank God everyday for all he has given us!

Welcome To Our House Little Elf...

Day 1:
Meet Jingle !!!!
The Big Introduction ...

Good Morning Everyone! Last night, before bed, I read Robbie "The Elf On The Shelf" storybook...
Of course he had so many questions about what an elf is and what does it look like.

This morning, as soon as Robbie popped out of bed, he ran over to our bed, jumped in with us, gave me his usual good morning greeting of a kiss and a hug for mommy, daddy and Joey and Jake in my tummy. Then Robbie shouted, "did the elf come from Santa yet?"  Robbie and I both raced out of bed to find Jingle, our new elf sitting in the living room ready to kick-off the Christmas season with our family!
So meet Jingle, friends! I am sure you will be seeing a lot of him over the next 23 days!

I told Robbie Jingle must have been very tired from his long journey from The North Pole.

Jingle is quite a busy elf, just last week he made an appearance in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade last Thursday!

When I first decided to adopt The Elf On The Shelf Christmas tradition into our own family, I knew there were a few things I wanted to tweak... just a bit. I like the idea of this cute little elf making a daily grand entrance in a different spot in our home. I think this builds fun and cherished memories for little ones and stimulates imagination! However, I do not want my children growing-up with the idea that Christmas is all about receiving toys, Santa Clause and me, me ME!!

So I have decided to incorporate random acts of kindness with Jingle our elf. For instance, today, Jingle came with an important message to give lots of hugs throughout the day! I want Robbie to grasp the concept that this Christmas season is about what we can do for others to spread Christ's love. We shall see what kind acts Jingle has in mind for us tomorrow.

Here is the note and fishy crackers we found with Jingle this morning .

Robbie was a little apprehensive of Jingle at first. He kept asking me if Jingle is pretend or real ?

I broke the cardinal elf rule and let Robbie touch Jingle ...

And then everything was okay!

Not everyone in the house was welcoming to Jingle...

Giving hugs, just like Jingle requested.

Here is my little Elf... wishing you a Happy Monday !!! :)

Oh and here is our Christmas movie from last night...

I just loved the Mickey and Minnie story of " The Gift of The Magi".

Oh and I think I forgot to put up our family Christmas movie from Saturday night which was;

" Max & Ruby, A Merry Bunny Christmas".

We are thinking of doing "Frosty The Snowman Tonight", because Robbie loves singing the song!

We shall see... hope you are all enjoying this time of year as much as we are!

Today we are continuing to work with  Big (A) little (a) letter recognition in our homeschool studies.
Here is some of Robbie's work from this weekend.

We also started our December Bible Memory Verse yesterday ...

Matthew 16:16 " Jesus is the Son of God."

Have a wonderful week !
Blessings,

Reminds me a little of mom, dad, Rene and Harvey's monkey. Where will he be?

Great idea! I especially love the concept of doing for others.
