We thank you for taking the time to visit our blog.

My husband and I are a young, growing, Christian, military family. My husband is a Captain in The United States Marine Corps. I am a former Elementary school teacher. We are first time parents to a beautiful little two year old boy, with twin boys on the way! I am a stay at home Marine wife, who loves to bake, cook, sew and craft! I enjoy being a Domestic Engineer. The purpose of this blog is to document the story of our life and adventures as they take place.

We are honored to be serving our country and ask for prayer in our upcoming adventures. We have been blessed tremendously, and thank God everyday for all he has given us!

Friday Night Family Street Fair

The city of Monrovia California is my hometown. It is where I grew-up  and where I spent the first 25 years of my life; until I married my hubby four years ago, and became a military wife on the move!

Monrovia has my heart, it is where my soul likes to be!
The downtown main street of Monrovia is like stepping back into a simpler time. . .

Old Town Monrovia has a movie theatre, an old fashioned bakery, quaint little restaurants, shops and pubs.

Monrovia is known as the gem city, nestled just below the foothills of the San Gabriel mountains.

Each Friday evening in my town, you will find vendors, produce sellers and people who line  Myrtle Avenue, (the main street of Monrovia) for the Friday Night Family Street Fair.

While visiting the fair you will see beautifully colored fresh fruits and vegetables! The city also has produce for sale on Sundays just adjacent to the park.
A visit to the street fair just wouldn't be complete without buying a bag of Miss Pinky's Kettle Corn! Yummmm!

Last night Robbie , Aunt Becky and I went to the Friday night street
fair.

First stop was the petting zoo!

A local farm transports some of their baby livestock to the street fair every Friday.  Which includes ponies, bunnies, chickens, baby piglets and goats . This was Robbie's first time ever seeing these animals in person let alone petting them up close and personal! At first we just watched the animals from outside of the fenced in area.

I then decided to take Robbie into the petting zoo area and let him pet the animals. As you can see in the picture above, he was a little apprehensive to the  idea at first! :)

I think mommy was also . . .

This sweet little girl was so kind to Robbie, she was holding one of the piglets and reassured Robbie that they were sweet and everything was going to be okay!

Here we are petting a goat!

Below is a picture of the most adorable little piglets!

Robbie loved the baby bunnies!!

Say cheese!!
We have a trip planned to go to the L.A. County Fair in the next few weeks with Daddy. I think this was great practice for Robbie to interact with these baby animals, at the Fair he will be able to see a "Moo Cow"!

Aunt Becky then treated us to a nice dinner at Rudy's Mexican Restaurant!
Love, Love the chips and guacamole at Rudy's!

Robbie enjoyed his "Cado", which is his word for Avocado!
This little man is so proud of himself because he can drink out of a big boy cup with a straw! :)

Mommy enjoyed a wonderful taco
and I went home a happy camper!!
I bought this adorable hat that makes me smile for just $ 10.00 at the street fair!

When we returned home, Robbie was all smiles and giggles with Gompa before his bath and bedtime story!

The end of a great evening!

Today's Fall recipe will give you a great idea of what to do with all of those  Thanksgiving leftovers or just a fun appetizer to serve at your next dinner party!

Turkey Cranberry Wreath

What you'll need:

2 packages (8 ounces each) refrigerated rolls

1/2 cup mayonnaise

2 tablespoons honey Dijon mustard

1/2 teaspoon coarsely ground black pepper

2 cups cooked turkey, chopped (12 ounces)

1/2 cup celery, diced

3 tablespoons fresh parsley, snipped

1/2 cup dried cranberries

4 ounces Swiss cheese, shredded (1 cup)

1/4 cup walnuts, chopped

1 egg, separated

What you'll do:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Unroll crescent dough; separate into 16 triangles. Arrange triangles into a wreath on a baking stone. Mix mayonnaise, mustard, pepper, turkey, celery, parsley, cranberries and cheese. Scoop filling onto dough, top with nuts and seal. Beat egg white lightly, and brush over dough. Bake 25-30 minutes or until brown. (For individual rolls, unroll crescent roll dough into rectangles. Press perforations between the triangles to seal, and cut each rectangle into two squares. Place a scoop of filling in the center of each square, and pull up corners of dough to center. Sprinkle a few nuts on the roll, and bake for about 20 minutes. This will make tummies everywhere very happy!
Blessings,
