We thank you for taking the time to visit our blog.

My husband and I are a young, growing, Christian, military family. My husband is a Captain in The United States Marine Corps. I am a former Elementary school teacher. We are first time parents to a beautiful little two year old boy, with twin boys on the way! I am a stay at home Marine wife, who loves to bake, cook, sew and craft! I enjoy being a Domestic Engineer. The purpose of this blog is to document the story of our life and adventures as they take place.

We are honored to be serving our country and ask for prayer in our upcoming adventures. We have been blessed tremendously, and thank God everyday for all he has given us!

Random Thoughts on A Thursday Afternoon . . .

My little sweet pea is napping. I am sitting down for a few moments to myself before my mother in-law, Carla arrives for a visit.

So here are my random thoughts on this Thursday afternoon . . .

I just found and bought this great family teaching tool!

It's called The Child Training Bible!

"This Bible is designed for parents and children to seek answers from God’s Word on common sinful problems. Topics include: disobedience, selfishness, anger, complaining and fear. The Child Training Bible makes it easy for parents to bring the truth of God’s Word into times of instruction. Simply use the key on the inside-front cover of the CTB to locate the sinful behavior and find the section and color flags to go to. Read the highlighted verses with your child and explain what God says about the behavior that needs to be addressed. With the CTB you can make the most of your time with your children by using Scripture to instruct them in righteousness."

How does it work?
Simply order these Bible Tabs from http://www.childtrainingbible.com/p/product.html for only $ 9.00 and begin tabbing and making your very own Child Training Bible!

This morning, after my walk with Robbie. I turned on Joyce Meyers to learn from her message for the day. It was a great one, as always! Today was all about forgiveness and forgiving those who have wronged us . . . a hard thing to do!

Here is just a sample from Joyce's website from today's lesson . . . a  GOOD one for us all to learn.

Six Ways to Find Unforgiveness and Remove It

by Joyce Meyer
Most all of us like getting promoted, and there's nothing wrong with that. But sometimes we fail tests in certain areas that keep us from getting promoted.
Areas like forgiveness.

If someone has hurt you, don't spend the next 10 years of your life hurting yourself by hanging on to that offense. Most likely, that other person isn't even thinking about you, while you dwell on the incident for years. That only hurts one person—you.
You see, when you forgive someone, you are helping yourself.
To help you understand the importance of forgiveness, here are six ways to detect unforgiveness in your own heart. Once exposed, you'll be one step closer to your personal promotion from God.

1) Unforgiveness always keeps score.
In Luke 15:29, the elder brother of the prodigal son said, "Look! These many years I have served you." Peter wanted to know how many times he had to forgive someone. Unforgiveness is always looking at the score. But 1 Corinthians 13:5 says, Love takes no account…. It doesn't count up the evil done to it.
Back in the early days of our marriage, when Dave and I were fussing and fuming at each other, I would bring up stuff that happened years before and Dave would say, "Where do you keep all that stuff?" Well, I had a place, and it was all in there eating at me. And every new thing Dave did wrong would get added to this list, and it kept growing until it became a bitter giant in my heart.

2) Unforgiveness always boasts of its own record.
In Luke 15:29, the older brother of the prodigal son says "These many years I have never done wrong." Judgment always says that I always do good and others do bad. An unforgiving spirit keeps us from God's best for us.

3) Unforgiveness always complains.
"You never do anything for me." Ever catch yourself thinking that about someone? This attitude only sees what others aren't doing and doesn't see what they are doing. God's Word clearly shows that we're not supposed to complain. And if you're continuously using your mouth to complain about some incident of offense, you won't get past it. Don't waste time by complaining.

4) Unforgiveness has a martyr syndrome.
"I do all the work." Workaholics are particularly susceptible to this one. Sometimes people who work all the time and don't know how to enjoy their life get jealous when other people are enjoying life. Is there someone who aggravates you when you see them having a good time? If yes, you could have unforgiveness toward them.

5) Unforgiveness always alienates, divides and separates.
When the kids are acting up, we say "my husband's kids" or maybe something like, "What are you going to do about your son?" Those are divisive statements. Maybe you have a coworker who you stay away from as much as possible or a sibling you don't talk to much…why do you separate yourself from them? Maybe you need to forgive that person.

6) Unforgiveness is always envious and jealous when angry at someone who gets blessed.
If someone who has hurt you gets a blessing, it grates on you…at least it did for me until I learned how to forgive. Forgiveness is a decision—not a feeling.
When you pray for people who have hurt you, it's a choice. But there's healing in that for you. Bless and do not curse them means to speak well and not evil of them when that person is not around. And be good to them in various ways as wisdom allows.

Improve Your Life

I want to encourage you today to make a decision to start living a lifestyle of forgiveness and refuse to be offended.
A forgiving lifestyle helps you become more like Christ. As you learn the importance of forgiveness and begin to practice forgiving others, your heart will heal from bitterness, and your personal growth will lead you to the promotions God has planned for you.

And my final random thought this Thursday . . .

This little man has a new tooth who took resident in his mouth today!

That makes a grand total of 5 teeth so far! :)

 Oh, I almost forgot . . .

I kinda have a crush on my new favorite snack!!

YUM!!!

That's it friends.
Blessings,

I saw that very same "Forgiveness" program late last night. Unforgiveness is one of my sins. It is so true! I am the only one hurting while the offender is enjoying life conscience-free. I find peace in knowing that God sees all and that vengeance is His. We truly reap what we sow. Also, people who are hurting in their own lives, often hurt other people as common habit. I am thankful that my Savior makes all things right for those who love Him. I trust God, and ONLY through Him, can we forgive ignorance and selfishness. My darling looks so long in the new picture. I think he will be very tall. I love you and I am so pleased and thankful that you are teaching Robbie about Jesus! XXOO... Mom

Excellent Post, Sarah!!

I've been working on becoming more forgiving lately...especially towards some family members who have continuously talked bad about me as a wife and mother! I feel like I really needed to see this post!

Thanks & God Bless,

Ami

Love the post about forgiveness, Sarah. So important for all of us to remember that we are commanded to forgive along with loving one another as Christ has loved us. When I am remembering that I didn't do anything to deserve the forgiveness and love Christ offers me; it really seems that I have very little reason to withhold it from others.

Dear Ami,
May I give you some unwarranted advice?
Always live for an audiance of ONE (GOD ALMIGHTY) He knows your heart, He knows who you are, where you have been, and where you are going; and He judges you accordingly. Pray sincerely for God to open the eyes and hearts of those who hurt you. It is a choice to love, and we can only do this through Jesus. It isn't human to do some things without the Holy Spirit's help. Bless those who persecute you because the Lord has asked you to. It doesn't mean to be friends, just give them grace for their ignorance. God is quick to help you through it and He will bless you. Know that you ARE A DAUGHTER OF A king WHO LOVES YOU. STAND TALL IN HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS! I am praying for you.

Dear "Anonymous"
A superstition is a belief or practice based on fear or ignorance. Perhaps you have little or no knowledge of the peace and blessings that come from obedience to the word of God.
There is no denying the existence of Jesus. A person has the choice to call faith, "crazy" Jesus died to give you that choice of freedom to choose the truth, the way, and the life. I think it is wonderful, and I praise God however, because you did read our "talk" seeds have a way of growing! :)
Jesus loves you, "Anonymous"!
