Manners & Etiquette Wednesday Hostess Gifts

Today we are talking all about hostess gifts. What are they? When should you bring one? What should you bring?

What is a hostess gift?
A hostess gift is a gift given to a hostess to show appreciation and say thank you for having me. Giving a hostess gift is not mandatory, however it does show good manners.

When should one bring a hostess gift?
It is considered appropriate to bring a hostess gift to just about any social gathering. It is nice to present the hostess or host with their gift when you first greet them. At rather large parties it might be nice to attach a gift card expressing a kind word of thanks to the hostess.

Hostess Gift Ideas: When it comes to a hostess gift there is a varity of gifts that your hostess is sure to wow over! For example; a nice bottle of wine, an apron, a book, flowers, chocolates, cookies, perhaps a packaged quick bread. Everyone loves something homemade!! I love to bake a cherry cobbler crumple, a little something for the hostess and their family to have later. click here for more hostess gift ideas from Martha Stewart

Directions
1. place cherry pie filling into Graham cracker pie crust.

Sometimes I add brown sugar as well.
