Happy Thankful Thursday Friends! This morning, while folding laundry, I realized that I often talk about Jesus in so many of my posts. It occurred to me that some of my readers might like to get to know this Jesus I speak of! He is my reason for everything! I am thankful for His love, blessings and teachings. So, this Thursday I will not be posting a cute picture of my baby, a yummy recipe, or talking about a funny story. This Thursday, I would like to introduce you to my Father, Creator and Friend. His name is Jesus!Do you know that Jesus loves you? In fact he is crazy about you! The Lord God created you and made you in His image.We are his children and He wants to see us do well!
What Is Sin?
Did you know we were all born into sin? The Bible talks about this in Romans 3:23. No one is without sin! Jesus is the only perfect, sinless one. I don't know about you but daily I fall short of His perfect standards and plan. It doesn't matter how good of a person you are, or how many great deeds you do, all of this will never outweigh our sins or get us to heaven. One sin is enough to keep us from heaven.
Do not fear, there is good news. All of this was broken when God sent His only son Jesus to Earth!!!!
Who Is This Jesus ???
Jesus is the son of God. Jesus lived a beautiful, perfect, sinless life. Jesus endured beatings and pubic humiliation when he died on the cross for us. That's right Jesus took the punishment for us and for ALL of the sins of the world!!! He loves us that much! He Died so that we could have life!!!!
The Bible tells us in John 3:16 Jesus rose from the dead, just three days after His death on the cross!! JESUS IS ALIVE!!!! No other religious figure ever rose or came back from the dead.
It is simple.
You must believe that you are a sinner.
You must turn away from your sin and stop doing it!
You MUST believe that Jesus died for YOU on that cross. He washed you clean of your sins and he has already suffered and payed the price for them!! ( John 3: 16)
Finally, ask Jesus to come into your heart and fill your life with his blessings. Commit yourself to Him! Ask Him for forgiveness... have a chat with Him.
DON'T WORRY ABOUT THE PAST!!! You are a new creation in Christ Jesus, leave your old ways behind and seek to follow the Lord!! ( 2 Corinthians 5: 17)
Get Into The Word
The Word of the Lord that is. Go out and get yourself a Bible and start reading it today. A good Bible to start with is a NIV or a New International Version study Bible. You can find them almost anywhere, Borders, Walmart, Target, On-line at a Christian book store.
Reading the word of the Lord will help you grow closer to Him daily. You will begin to know Jesus on a more intimate level. Jesus is your friend and He is always with you! I find that so comforting to know! :)

So let's review. This man named Jesus was born and lived a perfect sinless life. He is the son of God. He died a brutal death on the cross, (by choice mind you) all so we could have life! That is some pretty AWESOME stuff. Ask yourself, would you die a horrible, brutal death for someone you don't even know and sins you didn't commit?? That is how MUCH Jesus loves you and me. So why do we disappoint Him and live a life unpleasing to Him? Let's try to live a life for Christ!!

What a wonderful reminder of the power and simplicity of the gospel message, Sarah. It never ceases to amaze me.
Thanks for this post! I have been trying to be closer to Jesus and God but have always struggled with people saying all you have to do is accept that Jesus died for our sins. I know that but I couldn't reconcile the fact that you accept Jesus but keep living the same life of sin. This post was really helpful! What type of church do you go to that teaches this belief? Thanks again,
