We Just Finished Robert's Nursery !!!

After months of preparation Robert's nursery is finally complete! My husband and I live in a two bedroom two bath just minutes from the beach in beautiful Southern California! Although it is wonderful to live so close to the beach, city and base, unfortunately the cost of living is much higher! When we first moved here last October we spent many days trying to decide which room would become Robert's nursery. We have two very large walk-in closets in each of the bedrooms (they really are room sized). My husband, Mother and I all thought of a great idea. Why not turn the large walk-in closet in our master bedroom into a nursery? This was the perfect solution, a small room attached to our bedroom what could be better?! While Rich was away for military training in North Carolina the past few months, my parents and I went to town working on the nursery! It took me a few days to get over the fact that I was "putting my baby in a closet" :) until I began to see the finish line. A completed nursery. Now, I love it!!!

Before Pictures! From Closet to Nursery
This baby dresser was my Mom's when she was a little girl. The dresser was then passed down to me and now to Robert. My Mom worked very hard to sand, prime and re-paint the dresser to match Robert's nursery decor.
My Momma Tiffany Blue The Nursery Is Finished!!!

Here we have the door to Robert's nursery. I wanted a beautiful cross to hang on the door. My Mom came up with this. It is the same color as his nursery, it has fake tiny Robin bird eggs all around it to symbolize spring and new life. Since my little guy will be born in the spring. the entire nursery theme is "Lamb of God" the colors are Tiffany blue, silver, white and cream. Come on in! Looking into Robert's nursery.
The antique lamps my Dad bought, along with the finished dresser!

My Mom loves to oil paint. She made this painting of a lamb in a pasture for Robert.

We have our engagement picture on the dresser.

My Mom recently discovered the art of Roving using real lambs wool. This is one of the gifts she made and gave to me at my shower a few weeks back.

My Aunt Becky gave Robert this little cross.

I crocheted the Tiffany blue and white blanket which sits on Robert's dresser below.

Here is the crib. This crib is actually a stand in ha ha. This was my crib when I was a baby. My father in-law Ken is an excellent woodworker. He is in the process of making Robbie a crib. Rich and I want to try to get Robert into the crib as soon as possibl and comfortable with sleeping on his own. So we are using my old crib until the other one is finished. :)

The changing table was also mine when I was a baby. My Dad sanded, primed and painted it for Robert.
This Mobile is from my sweet friend Summer! I have been in love with this Pottery Barn Mobile since I found out I was pregnant. I never told Summer and a few weeks ago at my shower she presented me with this! Great mind's think alike! ;)

My Mom crocheted this adorable lamb diaper holder to go on the side of Robert's crib. I'm in love with it!!

Stuffed animal and books from friends.
Changing table, Diaper Genie and bookshelf.

Last weekend my parents, Aunt Becky, Rich and I went to the Pasadena City College Flea market. I always enjoy Flea markets and getting a bargain! This cute bookcase was $ 25 my dad got the lady down to $10. We bought it, took it home and my Mom antiqued it. It looks just precious in Robbie's room filled with books, diapers and baby powder!
I sanded and painted these letters for Robert's room. The shelf I actually picked up when I was living in Virginia. I originally thought I would use it in our guestroom someday. My Mom helped me antique the shelf to match the bookcase.
This is a Hummel my Mom passed down to me from her Mother. It is a little boy holding a lamb. It means so much to me and reminds me of my sweet Grandma Vera.
This is a Kewpie doll which belonged to my Father's Mom Nana Helen. She was an antique dealer. This reminds me of her. :)
Little dress shoes that sit on Robert's dresser.
We have a very creative and wonderful family friend Roberta. Roberta has know me my entire life. She made this beautiful book about Mothers and children. I placed it on the wall in the front entrance of the nursery.
Hope you enjoyed the nursery tour! This was a group/family effort. I couldn't have done it without the help of my husband and parents! Now all we need is my sweet little boy to complete it! :)
