37 Weeks & Full Term Praise God!!!!

Weekly Pregnancy Update

37 Weeks and 4 Days into my pregnancy!!!

Here I am above holding Robert's ultrasound picture in front of his crib.

How Far Along: I am 37 weeks and 4 days and we have made it to full term!!!! :) I'm thanking God to have made it this far in my pregnancy all praise be to Him!! This means that my sweet little Robert can now safely come at any time!

Size of Baby: Little Robert is the size of a watermelon!!!! Yes, I said a watermelon, can you believe it!! I remember back when I was only around 6 to 9 weeks pregnant looking at a size comparison of the baby ( which was then a sesame seed) wondering how I would feel when he was this big. Well, let me tell you I feel great!!!! He is 18.5 inches long. He weighs about 6.3 to 7 pounds and measures about 19 inches long.

Development This Week: Robert is now considered "full term," even though my due date is 17 days away. If I went into labor now, his lungs will likely be mature enough to fully adjust to life outside the womb.
Your baby weighs 6 1/3 pounds and measures a bit over 19 inches, head to heel (like a stalk of Swiss chard). Many babies have a full head of hair at birth, with locks from 1/2 inch to 1 1/2 inches long. But don't be surprised if your baby's hair isn't the same color as yours. Dark-haired couples are sometimes thrown for a loop when their children come out as blonds or redheads, and fair-haired couples have been surprised by Elvis look-alikes. And then, of course, some babies sport only peach fuzz.

Maternity Clothes: I wear maternity jeans, pants and some tops. I LOVE anything stretchy or drawstring at this point along with stretchy dresses and leggings! I'm Starting to feel HUGE haha!!

Gender: We are having a precious baby boy!!! Robert William Christensen

Movement: Love feeling him and I know I will miss it when he's out. I am cherishing every movement and day we have together.

Sleep: Lately sleep is all I want and love to do!

What I miss: Ugh!!! I would LOVE a great BIG sub sandwich! I miss my blonde hair :( and the ability to fit into my old clothes and skinny jeans, sleeping on my back and I would LOVE some sweet tea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cravings: Milk and apples with peanut butter.

Symptoms:Some Braxton Hicks and cramping

Best Moment this week: Sitting in the nursery looking around and dreaming of holding my sweet little boy!

Message to Robert From Mommy: Okay little guy, it's almost go time!! I have been feeling a flood of emotions lately, all of them happy of course! I am beyond excited to meet you my little sweet pea. I am not nervous about labor ( as of the past few days) I have completely surrendered it over to the Lord. You will come when the Lord sees fit and whenever that is I am ready! I feel such peace about your birth Robbie ( I know you don't know me yet,but this is huge for me. Your Momma is usually a huge planner who over analyzes everything). Well, not with this little guy. I'm taking a backseat, I'm just along for the ride. The Lord has brought you and me this far and I can see the finish line! I love you my little boy! I will be waiting to meet you with a smile on my face and in my heart! :) Love your Momma!

I am amazed at how much a belly can stretch and grow during pregnancy. It's truly a miracle from God that we as women carry a life in us for 9 months. How can anyone doubt the Lord and His works? Here are my tummy pictures starting on the left at 7 weeks pregnant, moving onto 17 weeks, then 27 weeks and finally 37 weeks!

This brought a tear to my eye this time! I've been reading all of the Pregnancy updates with excitement for you, but this time, I was overjoyed with the love that you're about to experience. Just remember, you only THINK you love this child now...just wait until you're holding him! I don't know where it comes from, but the love that you gain as a mother is a love that you've never felt before. Enjoy the last few weeks of your pregnancy and give that little boy a squeeze from all of us down here in Texas! Wish we were closer!

Thank you Brittany! Such sweet words of encouragement! Lately, I have been thinking about something you once told me. You told me that I should enjoy every little movement, kick and turn my baby makes, because I will miss felling him move once he is born. Thank you for that! I have been really trying to enjoy our last few days weeks together. I wish we lived closer as well! However, I always have our friendship in my heart! :) Love, Sarah
