We thank you for taking the time to visit our blog.

My husband and I are a young, growing, Christian, military family. My husband is a Captain in The United States Marine Corps. I am a former Elementary school teacher. We are first time parents to a beautiful little two year old boy, with twin boys on the way! I am a stay at home Marine wife, who loves to bake, cook, sew and craft! I enjoy being a Domestic Engineer. The purpose of this blog is to document the story of our life and adventures as they take place.

We are honored to be serving our country and ask for prayer in our upcoming adventures. We have been blessed tremendously, and thank God everyday for all he has given us!

Guest Room Welcome Basket

This past weekend my In-laws came to stay for the weekend. I created a Guest Room Welcome Basket. These baskets are a lovely way to make your guests feel right at home. I always include two water bottles, a few magazines, lotions, socks, treats ( in this particular basket I included a jar of my homemade blueberry jam, pistachios ( my Father In-laws favorite), milk chocolate strawberry filled candies and a few others).
I also always have a guest book which stays in the basket. The purpose of the guestbook is to encourage our overnight guests to share about their visit with us. I started the guestbook back at our first apartment in California. The guestbook has accompanied us on our moves to Virginia, Florida and now back to California. I have the best time reading what our guests have said after they have left. Hope you have fun making guest bedroom gift baskets with your own personal touch! :)

Here are a few more pictures of our guestroom.

Blessings, Sarah

Sarah,

Thank you so much for your visit to my blog and your sweet comments! I am a first time visitor to yours but I can tell I will enjoy coming back frequently! I love this gift basket idea!!! We don't a guest room in this house...our children fill them...but when my family visits from out of town they stay in a nearby hotel. I think that making a guest basket for them to have at the hotel in their room with make it a much more homey experience!!! You have my creative juices flowing!! Thanks for the great ideas!

I will be praying for you and your husband as you serve our country...and that precious baby that is on the way!!! God bless you my new friend! :D
