We thank you for taking the time to visit our blog.

My husband and I are a young, growing, Christian, military family. My husband is a Captain in The United States Marine Corps. I am a former Elementary school teacher. We are first time parents to a beautiful little two year old boy, with twin boys on the way! I am a stay at home Marine wife, who loves to bake, cook, sew and craft! I enjoy being a Domestic Engineer. The purpose of this blog is to document the story of our life and adventures as they take place.

We are honored to be serving our country and ask for prayer in our upcoming adventures. We have been blessed tremendously, and thank God everyday for all he has given us!

Sometimes A Coke and A Burger Are All You Need For Date Night

This past week has been extremely busy for Rich. He started the long awaited six weeks of API about a week ago. Things are in full gear for him now! He has been in class during the week for nine hour days, followed by another four or so hours of studying at home /with his study group at night.

Today started off with us being able to sleep in late, followed by a Saturday of studying for Rich, and cleaning house for me. Rich and I had discussed earlier that we were not going to do much this weekend other than Church on Sunday and brunch. This being due to the fact that he has a huge Aero test on Tuesday. Well aware of this I went about my Saturday. Having lunch with girlfriends, cleaning the house, doing laundry, and the fun task of cleaning the bathrooms. Around eight at night Rich said he was starving and just needed to get out of the house for a bit to clear his mind from studying. So, we jumped in the car and after pondering for five or ten minutes decided that we were both craving a nice, juicy burger! Where else would we go in the south ? Whataburger!!!!!!!!

As a child I always pictured date nights between married couples much like the scene in the Disney movie "Lady and The Tramp". Where Tramp and Lady are sharing a meatball and spaghetti dinner, being wooed by the man at the Italian restaurant. Silly... I know. :)

Well, tonight was one of those nights. Today was a day of being in the same house for hours with my husband and not ever really being able to sit and talk with him. It was so nice to pick up right where we left off... not just husband and wife, but best friends! Which is why sometimes a coke and a burger really are all you need for a fabulous date night. It didn't cost much, just some time to sit and chat with each other about our hopes, dream and fears in life. All at a local Whataburger restaurant. That's when it hit me. Just like sharing a meatball and spaghetti dinner in the movie "Lady in the Tramp", it's the small little moments in life that matter. These are the moments that make life grand!
