35 Weeks With 29 Days To Go!!!

I'm 35 Weeks and 6 days Pregnant With 29 Days To Go!

Pregnancy Highlights This Week

How Far Along: 35 weeks and 6 days!

Size of Baby: Little Robert is the size of a Honeydew Melon. He is 17 inches long. He weighs about 5.5 pounds. Development This Week: Robert doesn't have much room to maneuver now that he's over 18 inches long and tips the scales at 5 1/4 pounds (pick up a honeydew melon). Because it's so snug in my womb, he isn't likely to be doing somersaults anymore, but the number of times he kicks should remain about the same. His kidneys are fully developed now, and his liver can process some waste products. Most of his basic physical development is now complete — he'll spend the next few weeks putting on weight.

Maternity Clothes: I wear maternity jeans, pants and some tops. I LOVE anything stretchy or drawstring at this point along with stretchy dresses and leggings! I'm Staring to feel really BIG!! Gender: We are having a precious baby boy!!! Robert William Christensen

Movement: I love to feel him move and boy does he move all the time, thank God!!!!!

Sleep: The sleep issues have started in the last week! I toss and turn and just when I get comfortable Rich tells me I'm snoring haha! I'm also having trouble breathing and getting comfortable at night.

What I miss: Ugh!!! I would LOVE a great BIG sub sandwich! I miss my blonde hair :( and the ability to fit into my old clothes and skinny jeans, sleeping on my back and I would LOVE some sweet tea!!!!!!!!!!!!!! However, I wouldn't trade it for anything!!!

Cravings: This week Italian Ice !

Symptoms: Trouble getting out of bed in the morning while laying flat on my back. ha ha :) A little sore towards the evenings, back pain and I'm always thirsty! Some Braxton Hicks.

Best Moment this week: We finished Robert's nursery!!!!

Message to Robert From Mommy: Hi my little man! We finished your nursery this week! Grandma Robin came and stayed for the week to help me get ready for you! On Monday the stroller and car seat Grandma Carla bought for you came in the mail. Daddy installed your car seat, I packed my bag ( and your clothes) for the hospital. Daddy and I have been practicing breathing for your big arrival and we are ready to go! Love you my sweet pea! :) Love Mommy

34 Weeks and 5 Days

I'm 34 Weeks and 5 days Pregnant With 37 Days To Go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pregnancy Highlights This Week

We had a Doctors appointment on Tuesday. Robert is head down ready to go! I'm praying he stays this way for the next month. :)

How Far Along: 34 weeks and 5 days! Only 37 days to go!!!!!!!

Size of Baby: Little Robert is the size of a large cantaloupe. He is 17 inches long. He weighs about 5 pounds.
Development This Week: Robert now weighs about 5 pounds (like your average cantaloupe) and is almost 18 inches long. His fat layers — which will help regulate his body temperature once he's born — are filling him out, making him rounder. His skin is also smoother than ever. His central nervous system is maturing and his lungs are continuing to mature as well. If you've been nervous about preterm labor, you'll be happy to know that babies born between 34 and 37 weeks who have no other health problems generally do fine. They may need a short stay in the neonatal nursery and may have a few short-term health issues, but in the long run, they usually do as well as full-term babies.

Movement: I love to feel him move!!!!!

Sleep:The sleep issues have started in the last week! I toss and turn and just when I get comfortable Rich tells me I'm snoring haha!

Cravings: This week water and Goodhumor Strawberry shortcake ice cream bars!!!

Symptoms: Trouble getting out of bed in the morning while laying flat on my back. ha ha :) A little sore towards the evenings, back pain and I'm always thirsty!

Best Moment this week: I had my second baby shower last Saturday which was so much fun! On Tuesday I had my 34 week Dr. Appointment. Robbie's heart rate was a solid 145 and he is head down!!!!

Message to Robert From Mommy: Hi my little man! We had a busy week! Auntie Summer and Aunt Becky gave us a big baby shower! I can't wait for you to meet everyone who came to the shower! You are so loved little guy! Daddy and I went to the Doctors on Tuesday and we listened to your strong heartbeat! Dr. Kong said you have an excellent strong heart rhythm! You are also head down ready to go little one. Let's try to make it another month. I'm getting to where I can't wait to meet you, hold you and kiss your sweet little face. Grandma Robin gave me two photos for your nursery. One is of Daddy when he was a little boy and the other photo is of me when I was a little girl. I hope you look just like your Daddy! You will love Daddy, he talks to you every night, and kisses Mommy's tummy every morning before he leaves for work and every night when he comes home. You will have so much fun with Daddy, he has big plans for you two! Just 37 more days kiddo! I'm hoping you and I will be a team during labor, I'm counting on you to help Mommy through! Love you so much Mommy :)

Daddy when he was little.

Mommy as a little girl.

Nesting

This past Saturday my best friend Summer and my wonderful Aunt Becky gave me a fabulous baby shower!! We all had so much fun! We invited about 30 of my dear friends. Summer outdid herself making all the excellent food, making a beautiful cake and decorating the entire hall! Summer has a talented, kind and beautiful friend Michelle. Summer and Michelle have started their own party planning business! I'm so excited for them to be setting off on this adventure and sharing their talent with others. Check out their blog at http://itsaneventfullife.blogspot.com/and get them to plan your next party! Michelle is also a photographer and her work is gorgeous! So, sorry folks I couldn't decide if I should put up the pictures I took from the shower or wait for Michelle's BEAUTIFUL pictures! I decided to wait! I'm hoping to have them up in a new post later this week! So, today I am sharing my baby nesting pictures with you!!
Nesting

I'm sure we are all familiar with the term or phrase, "she's nesting". The nesting period refers to a time where a pregnant mommy-to-be begins to plan and prepare her home for her newborn baby. Just as a mother bird would build her nest for her new little chicks. Well folks, today I am in full nesting mode!!! After two weekends of baby showers and beautiful gifts, I am spending today washing, folding and fluffing baby clothes. Last night Rich set up our baby swing. I am putting away soft baby blankets, sweet little socks and diapers galore!!!! I thought I would share a few pictures from today's nesting event at our house!

Baby Swing From my Mom (Grandma Robin). Rich and I set it up last night.

Tons of baby boy clothes!! My living room once all the gifts from shower #2 were brought into the house!!!
It looks like I'm a baby clothes hoarder haha This was such a sweet gift from our friends The Mcfaul family! Rich just loved it too!! It is a Tonka truck filled with fake grass and baby socks rolled up into little flowers! Then Spencer one of the Mcfaul boys wrote a letter to our little Robbie explaining how much fun he had with his Tonka truck when he was little! Yay baby socks, we needed these!!!
Mrs. Mcfaul had each of her children give Robbie a copy of their favorite book with a picture of them and a letter explaining why that particular book was their favorite!

Summer made these beautiful bibs and diaper coveres for my little guy!
Just some of the many fun gifts and baby items I am nesting with today! ;)

How Far Along: 33 weeks and 4 days. Only about 6 weeks to go!!!!

Size of Baby: Little Robert is the size of a pineapple. He is 17 inches long. He weighs a little over 4 pounds!
Development This Week:Things are heating up inside! Robbie may grow up to a full inch this week alone, and his brain is developing like crazy. Pretty soon, he'll be able to coordinate breathing with sucking and swallowing. Also, his bones are hardening, and he's started to keep his eyes open when he's awake. He's rapidly losing that wrinkled, alien look and his skeleton is hardening.

Movement: This little boy is so active!!! Especially at night or when his daddy talks to my tummy!

Sleep: I'm sleeping pretty well, thanks to my awesome pregnancy pillow! A little more aches and pain, but it's all worth it! Lately, when I lay down in bed I can feel little Robbie kicking in my ribs. :)

Symptoms: Trouble getting out of bed in the morning while laying flat on my back. ha ha :) A little sore towards the evenings, and back pain.

Best Moment this week: On Sunday I had my first of two baby showers! Also, Rich and I opened up a pack of pampers newborn swaddler diapers yesterday. Rich held up the diaper and said " I can't believe he is this small, I don't want to hurt him". Haha it was the cutest thing!

Message to Robert From Mommy: Hi little guy! You and I had a great week together! On Saturday we went to your great Grandpa Branch's 80th birthday party and on Sunday Grandma Carla and your Aunts gave us a baby shower! You received so many nice things. Development This Week: I'm gaining about a pound a week and roughly half of that goes right to my baby. In fact, he'll gain a third to half of his birth weight during the next 7 weeks as he fattens up for survival outside the womb. 31 Weeks!!

I'm 31 Weeks !!
31 Weeks Pregnant and Loving Life!

Pregnancy Highlights This Week:

How Far Along: 31 Weeks and 4 days!

Size of Baby: Little Robert is the size 4 navel oranges. He is 16 inches long. He weighs about 3.3 lbs.
Baby Development This Week: This week, Robert measures over 16 inches long. He weighs about 3.3 pounds (try carrying four navel oranges) and is heading into a growth spurt. He can turn his head from side to side, and his arms, legs, and body are beginning to plump out as needed fat accumulates underneath his skin. He's probably moving a lot, too, so I have trouble sleeping because his kicks and somersaults keep me up :) . All this moving is a sign that your baby is active and healthy.

Maternity Clothes: I wear maternity jeans, pants and some tops. I LOVE anything stretchy or drawstring at this point along with stretchy dresses and leggings!

Gender: We are having a precious baby boy!!! Robert William Christensen

Movement: Whew!!!! I have a very active little boy!!! He moves mostly in the evenings and just before bed!!!

Sleep: I'm sleeping pretty well, thanks to my awesome pregnancy pillow! A little more aches and pain, but it's all worth it! Lately, when I lay down in bed I can feel little Robbie kicking in my ribs. :)

Cravings: Mike's Jersey Subs Provolone, veggie sub. Oh my goodness!!! I could eat these everyday of the week!!! :) This week I have been craving Mexican food!!!
Symptoms: Trouble getting out of bed in the morning while laying flat on my back. ha ha :) A little sore towards the evenings, and back pain.

Best Moment this week: Listening to music with my little guy! Every morning while I eat my breakfast I have a special time where I play music near my belly. I love to feel little Robert kick and move to the music.
Message to Robert From Mommy: Hi sweet boy! Well we have just a just about 9 weeks left with you in my tummy! This weekend I worked on your nursery, washed all of your little clothes and socks and enjoyed getting ready for your arrival! You have been very active in Mommy's tummy and I just love it!! The best news of all is Daddy comes home this week on Friday! I can't wait for him to see how big you and I have gotten! I am also looking forward to Daddy watching you move in my tummy and talking to you. I love you my little man and I'm praying for you everyday! :) Love your Mommy.

30 Weeks Pregnant !

I'm 30 Weeks !!
Here I am 30 weeks pregnant and feeling happy, fat and sassy!

Pregnancy Highlights This Week:

How Far Along: 30 Weeks and overjoyed!

Size of Baby: Little Robert is the size of a squash. He is 15.2 to 16.7 inches long. He weighs about 3 lbs 12 oz.

Baby Development This Week: Robert is surrounded by a pint and a half of amniotic fluid, but that volume will decrease as he gets bigger and takes up more room in my uterus. His eyesight continues to develop, though it's not very keen; even after he's born, he'll keep his eyes closed for a good part of the day. When he does open them, he'll respond to changes in light but will have 20/400 vision — which means he can only make out objects a few inches from his face. (Normal adult vision is 20/20.)

Maternity Clothes: I wear maternity jeans, pants and some tops. I LOVE anything stretchy or drawstring at this point along with stretchy dresses.

Gender: We are having a precious baby boy!!! Robert William Christensen

Movement: I have a busy little bee growing in my tummy! I love my little guy so much!!!

Sleep: I'm sleeping pretty well, thanks to my awesome pregnancy pillow! A little more aches and pain, but it's all worth it!

What I miss: Ugh!!! I would LOVE a great BIG sub sandwich! I miss my blonde hair :( and the ability to fit into my old clothes and skinny jeans, sleeping on my back. However, I wouldn't trade it for anything!!!

Cravings: Mike's Jersey Subs Provolone, veggie sub. Oh my goodness!!! I could eat these everyday of the week!!! :) The new one this week Cuties Mandarin Oranges.

Symptoms: Trouble getting out of bed in the morning while laying flat on my back. ha ha :) A little sore towards the evenings, and back pain.

Best Moment this week: Enjoying my little guy keep me company all day with his kicks, flips and turns.

Message to Robert From Mommy: Hi my sweet pea! You and I have been having so much fun this week! You have been moving all the time and I am so thankful for every movement! Today, we had lunch with Auntie Summer and Grandma Robin. I talked to Daddy this morning and he asked all about you. Daddy told me he can't wait to hold you and kiss you. This week I am washing all of your baby clothes and Grandpa Ray and Grandma Robin are going to help me set up your nursery. Grandma Robin has been hard at work painting your dresser and changing table as well as making you all sorts of things! Your Grandpa Ken is working very hard on making your crib and Grandma Carla bought you a bassinet. You are so loved and wanted by everyone. Daddy will be home in 10 days and guess what? We will get to meet you in a little less than 10 weeks!!! I'm praying for you my sweet boy! Love you so much Mommy. :)

29 Week Pregnancy Update

I'm 29 Weeks !!
Here is my 29 week pregnancy picture. I'm sporting my USMC pride for my hubby! Rich is still in North Carolina for another 2 weeks. So, I took a few pictures of the baby and my ever growing baby tummy for him to see. :)

Pregnancy Highlights This Week:

How Far Along: 29 Weeks and counting! I'm getting so excited and just can't wait!

Size of Baby: Little Robert is the size of a squash. He is 15.2 to 16.7 inches long. He weighs about 2.5 to 3.8 pounds!

Baby Development This Week: Robert's energy is surging, thanks to white fat depositing beneath his skin. And since he's growing so fast (weight will triple by birth), things are getting kind of cramped in the womb. What all this means for you: I'm getting ready for some more kicks and jabs to the ribs. :) Robert's adrenal glands are producing a chemical which will be made into estriol (a form of estrogen) by the placenta. This estriol is thought to stimulate the production of prolactin by my body, and the prolactin makes me produce milk. So even if my baby came early, I would still be able to breastfeed.

Each passing week improves the likelihood that my baby will be born strong and healthy. His brain can detect rhythmic breathing and control body temperature, so he's less likely to need breathing assistance should he be born early. He's growing eyelashes, adding fat, and developing his brain. Because of brain wave activity, researchers have speculated that babies can even dream at this time!

Maternity Clothes: I wear maternity jeans, pants and some tops. I LOVE anything stretchy or drawstring at this point!!

Gender: We are having a precious baby boy!!! Robert William Christensen

Movement: Little Robert moves ALL the time, and I love every minute of it! I thank my Lord for his wonderful works!

Sleep: I'm sleeping pretty well, thanks to my awesome pregnancy pillow! A little more aches and pain, but it's all worth it!

What I miss: Ugh!!! I would LOVE a great BIG sub sandwich! I miss my blonde hair :( and the ability to fit into my old clothes. However, I wouldn't trade it for anything!!!

Cravings: Mike's Jersey Subs Provolone, veggie sub. Oh my goodness!!! I could eat these everyday of the week!!! :)

Symptoms: Trouble getting out of bed in the morning while laying flat on my back. ha ha :) A little sore towards the evenings.

Best Moment this week: Feeling Robert move everyday!!!! :)

Message to Robert From Mommy: Hello my sweet little boy! Mommy loves you so much already! I keep looking at your 3D ultrasound picture and I just can't wait to meet you!! I am praying for you and the man you will grow to be. You and I are staying with Grandma Robin, we are having fun making things for you. Daddy will be home in 2 more weeks! He prays for you every night and calls to ask about you everyday. You are so wanted and loved sweet pea! :)

A few more pregnancy pics so Daddy can see how big we are both getting Robbie! :)

Look Rich!

I bought Robert his first pair of desert cammies! Just for you Daddy. :)

We think it's a perfect fit! ;)
We love you and miss you hurry home! :)

28 Weeks & Third Trimester !!!!

I'm 28 Weeks & In My Third Trimester !
I just got home from my Doctor's appointment. Little Robert is doing well! A happy and healthy little boy with a heart rate of 150 BPM!! Praise the Lord! :) I am now in my Third Trimester I'm 28 weeks and 4 days along. With a little less than 11 weeks to go before I meet my little sweet pea!! :) I passed my glucose test with flying colors! I found out I am a little anemic but, that's okay I just started taking Iron pills. I am well on my way to delivering a beautiful baby boy! Oh and Robert your Daddy is coming home from his training in 3 weeks! Life is good!

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 28 Weeks and counting! I can't wait to meet you my sweet little boy!

Size of Baby: Little Robert is the size of a small cabbage. He is 14.8 inches long. He weighs about 2.2 pounds.

Baby Development This Week: For the time being, my little boy is in the fat collection business!

Despite being a bipedal whale, this fetal fat collection stuff is serious business, and you’ve got to put up with it because it’s going to keep your little boy warm and healthy after birth, since their brain will be unable to regulate their tiny baby-body's temperature.

Other good stuff from inside the womb: your little explorer's eyes are doing lots of blinking this week because they’re now responding to light and dark!

And in life-critical physical developments: your champ's tiny industrious bone marrow is now a major construction site for blood cells, while their super-cute adrenal glands are actually producing androgen and estrogen — which will stimulate your body to begin milk production.

Maternity Clothes: I wear maternity jeans and pants but everything else is regular. Love those stretchy leggings and jeggins! I even went shopping this week and bought some cute tops!

Gender: It's a Boy!!! Robert William Christensen

Movement: I've been feeling the baby a lot more lately and higher in my belly especially at night! He is a busy little guy in there. I often feel like he's building a house!!

Sleep: I'm sleeping pretty well, thanks to my awesome pregnancy pillow! A little more aches and pain, but it's all worth it!

What I miss: Ugh!!! I would LOVE a great BIG sub sandwich!

Cravings: Cuties tangerines and Babybel Cheese, all the fruit I can get and Shredded Mini Wheat's!
Symptoms: Trouble getting out of bed in the morning while laying flat on my back. ha ha :) Also, a little shortness of breath in my ribs. Just an overall heavy feeling. Oh and the new one this week, bending over! Overall, I am feeling great!

Best Moment this week: Hearing Robert's beautiful little heart beat and working on his nursery! :)

Blessings,
Sarah

27 Weeks Pregnancy Update

I'm 27 Weeks!!!!
Pregnancy Highlights

How Far Along: 27 Weeks and counting! I can't wait to meet you my sweet little boy!

Size of Baby: Little Robert is the size of head of cauliflower. He is 14 to 14.8 inches long. He weighs about 2 pounds.

Baby Development This Week: Robert's sleeping and waking at regular intervals, opening and closing his eyes, and perhaps even sucking his fingers. With more brain tissue developing, his brain is very active now. While his lungs are still immature, they would be capable of functioning — with a lot of medical help — if he were born now. Chalk up any tiny rhythmic movements you may be feeling to a case of baby hiccups, which may be common from now on. Each episode usually lasts only a few moments, and they don't bother her, so just relax and enjoy the tickle

Maternity Clothes: I wear maternity jeans, pants and some maternity tops.Love those stretchy leggings and jeggins!

Gender: It's a Boy!!! Robert William Christensen

Movement: He is a busy little guy in there. I often feel like he's building a house!! This week I felt a few rib kicks.

How Am I Sleeping: Pretty Well! Thanks to my awesome pregnancy pillow!

Oh and the new one this week, trouble bending over and putting on my shoes!

Best Thing This Week: Passing my glucose test the first time, working on Robert's nursery and as always praising the Lord for my little one! :)

Blessings,

Sarah

26 Weeks Pregnancy Update

I'm 26 Weeks !

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 26 Weeks and counting! I can't wait to meet you my sweet little boy!

Size of Baby: Little Robert is the size of an English Hothouse Cucumber. He is 14 to 14.8 inches long. He weighs about 1.5 to 2.2 pounds.Baby Development This Week: At long last little Robert can see!
For the first time ever, his eyelids have finally opened (remember: they were fused shut previously) and he's probably having his first moments of sight as you read this (or maybe it already happened while you were brushing your teeth or browsing the Internet or something).
In addition to taking his first visual impressions of his comfy amniotic-filled studio, your little
human-bean recently acquired the ability to move their head around.
That's right, if your child were clever enough (which they're not - yet), they could engage in that most basic of non-verbal communication - the head shake/nod. Not to mention, gawking!
In further anti-alien developments: your little super star’s head hair is starting to grow in!

Maternity Clothes: I wear maternity jeans and pants but everything else is regular. Love those stretchy leggings and jeggins!

Best Moment this week: Besides feeling my sweetie move around in my belly, I have been enjoying making baby booties for Robert. As well as shopping for baby things with both Grandmas this week! :)

Blessings, Sarah
