Marvelous Monday

Happy Marvelous Monday!! It's time for another week. Hope your weekend was fantastic! I had a very productive weekend! On Saturday, I went to my dear friend's baby shower! I had a wonderful Saturday morning. Vanessa, my friend and her new little boy Luke looked fabulous! Vanessa was gorgeous, as always and Luke is just precious! I also had a great time chatting about babies and talking "mama" with some very sweet ladies who really live their faith. I spent the rest of the day baking and sewing while my hubby had a poker night!

Scrumptious Nutella Brownies

I just made these delicious brownies. The recipe is from Giada De Laurentiis. They turned out so yummy and chewy!

Total Time: 1 hr 12 min.
Prep5 min.
Inactive1 hr 0 min.
Cook7 min.
Yield:4 servings

Ingredients
4 brownies (about 2 by 3-inches)
1/4 cup Nutella
1/4 cup chopped toasted hazelnuts
1/4 cup mini chocolate chips (try a mix of white, semisweet, and milk chocolate)
Directions
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.

Spread each of the brownies with 1 tablespoon of Nutella. Sprinkle each of the brownies with 1 tablespoon chopped hazelnuts. Top the nuts with 1 tablespoon mini chocolate chips. Place the brownies on a baking sheet and bake for 5 to 7 minutes until the chocolate is starting to melt. Transfer the brownies to the refrigerator and let cool until the chocolate hardens, about one hour. You will LOVE THEM!!!

2 Sundresses

For 20 Dollars

In Under 20 Minutes!!!

Now That's A Steal!!!

The Fabric, before.

So, my next project for the day was... Making sundresses. On Friday, my Mom and I went to Walmart to browse the fabric section. I found this adorable sundress material on sale for $1o a yard. Well, I didn't quite need a yard to make one dress for me. So, I bought 2 yards of material. One in each print. The dresses literally took me about 20 minutes to make them both!!

I'm crazy about seersucker!! I love seersucker material because it is stretchy, it gives and it is perfect for the nursing mama! A comfortable fit that makes breastfeeding easy, anytime, anywhere! I also just love this bright, summery printed material.

And After I made them into dresses!

Ta Da!!!

So, how did I make these adorable sundress? I bought the fabric (2 yards total). I took my measurements around my bust and then sewed a straight stitch down the back. I machine hemmed it and voila!!! Two sundresses in less than a half hour!!! :) I had some material left over and I am now making accessories to match!

Blessings,

Marvelous Monday We're Moving !!!!

Happy Monday! Just a fun little fact, today is 7/11 just like the store! I don't have any of "My Favorite" products to share today. However, I did want to share that I 'm so excited because we are moving!!! Today was an eventful Monday full of great surprises! We are not moving far, just a few miles away onto base housing. We currently have a small two bedroom/ two bath apartment. I love our cozy little place, but baby makes three and it is a little crowded! Our new home has four bedrooms, two baths a large living room , dining room and family room! Best of all, a gorgeous ocean view! We thank God for this opportunity, as we could never afford a home like this in the civilian world! :)

We had so much drama with base housing when we first moved here from Florida. When we arrived in California, Camp Pendleton had no Officer base housing available.I remember feeling so sad and discouraged. So, we ended up renting a place out in town. The base housing waiting list is very long (almost a year for a home). I happened to call the housing office the other day to see if they had any First Lieutenant housing available (which means as a first Lieutenant , Rich rates a three bedroom two bath home). The sweet lady on the phone told me that they didn't have any three bedrooms available, but they did have a four bedroom home available!!! I jumped at the news and told her we would take it! We were so excited to know we would be getting a larger home, that was enough for us.

Well, today we drove by and the sweet lady placed us in a home that is on a hill and the backyard overlooks the ocean and beautiful San Clemente beaches! I guess it does pay to have a little patience (something I normally have little of). When God closes a door He really does open a window! :)

Below are a few of the picture I could get of the outside of our new home ! Our move-in date is set for August 22nd and I can't wait! I'm most excited because Robert will have a real nursery ( no more closet nursery for him ) haha. I will have a sewing/craft room and Rich will have an office plus we will have a guestroom! I will keep you all updated as we move in and start the decorating process. I hope you all had a nice Monday!

" This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it."

Psalm 118:24

Sarah

I just love it because it has a jeans look to it and can be worn with so many different outfits. I will be posting a link to her Etsy store later today if you are interested in buying or looking at her cuff bracelets her blog is http://www.makingthemostofeachday.blogspot.com

Marvelous & Me Time Monday

Happy Monday I hope you all had a lovely weekend! Ahh, today I was able to have a little me time! I am staying at my parent's house for the week because my husband is driving up to Washington state to attend his Grandfather's funeral. His Grandpa passed away this past Sunday. He was such a kind and gentle spirited man who loved the Lord. He will be missed. I know he is with Jesus and no longer in any pain here on earth.

Rich and I both thought it was best that baby Robert and I stay home and not make the drive (because Robert is so little and still a newborn). So, Robbie and I are spending the week at Grandma Robin's house! Anyway, yesterday after nursing and getting Robert down for his afternoon nap, I asked Grandma to babysit while I went to get my much needed and long overdue eyebrow wax!!!!

I had no idea before baby how much the simple things in life (like getting eyebrows waxed)would be such a luxury!!! It was nice to take a 15 minute timeout for myself. :) Now, I'm a happy girl without a uni brow! ;)
First up, my new favorite nail polish by Revlon. It's called Plum Baby 766. It's a beautiful, light pink that makes me feel soft and girlie! I love anything pink and this polish is positively radiant! It goes well with any outfit and compliments most skin tones! My mother in-law Carla made me a get well basket when I was in the hospital having the baby. This was one of the treats in the

basket.

Next, I wanted to share the restaurant The Melting Pot with all of you. Okay kids, show of hands please if you have ever eaten at The Melting Pot???? The Melting Pot is a fabulous fondue restaurant. The food is wonderful and I love the atmosphere. It';s a great place to dine with a group of friends or just even for a quite date night with your hubby. Either way you have to check out The Melting Pot! :)

Here we are at The Melting Pot last Summer.

Blessings,
Sarah

Marvelous Monday Sharing My Favorite Things

Good Morning Readers! It's Not a manic Monday but a marvelous Monday! Today and every Monday I will be sharing and featuring some of my favorite things with you. Let's jump start your week! First I have to share this great day planner that I just love. It's by momAgenda!

Check out the site here for more information or to order yours today http://www.momagenda.com/products.cfm The new 2011-2012 momAgenda Calendars and day planners are here! Check out all the awesome new colors. I just received my new momAgenda last week, I chose to go with the shimmering berry pink color. It's easy to find in my purse.I'm crazy about my momAgenda because I can see my whole week at once. I put my to-do-list inside as well ( so I can check off things and keep track of my commitments throughout the week). This year i went with the library binding instead of the spiral bound book. Both are great in their own way! Second on my list of favorites this week; is my MAC SPF 35 Studio Finish Concealer!!! I am in love with his concealer girls! It hides dark circles under your eyes and gives you an overall bright eyed, fresh look! It costs about $17 but lasts for about 6 months! :)

Next on my list, Victoria's Secret Ravishing Love collection. I just received the set as a birthday present from my Aunt and it's truly my new favorite! It's a beautiful blend of pomegranate, blackberry and lilac! So refreshing, relaxing and smooth!b You will love this collection.

Hope you enjoyed my Marvelous Monday Favorite Things! Enjoy your day! :)
