We thank you for taking the time to visit our blog.

My husband and I are a young, growing, Christian, military family. My husband is a Captain in The United States Marine Corps. I am a former Elementary school teacher. We are first time parents to a beautiful little two year old boy, with twin boys on the way! I am a stay at home Marine wife, who loves to bake, cook, sew and craft! I enjoy being a Domestic Engineer. The purpose of this blog is to document the story of our life and adventures as they take place.

We are honored to be serving our country and ask for prayer in our upcoming adventures. We have been blessed tremendously, and thank God everyday for all he has given us!

Rain, Rain Don't Go Away We Are Enjoying You Today!

Dick and Jane Rainy Day Fun
This is how we spent our rainy weekend!
We had some very different weather here in So. Cal. One week it was 39 degrees and a week later it was 85 degrees, and then there was rain, and more rain. We all got sick. First, I had a terrible cold, aches and headache. My little guy got a chest cold, and then my mom got Bronchitis.
As we were shopping in our local Pharmacy, we overheard so many comments about our "crazy weather" I had to chuckle to myself. Being a native Californian, I am here to tell you that we are spoiled and we need to appreciate our beautiful weather.

Today is gorgeous. The sun is bright and there is a cool,
soft and gentle wind. The sunset last night was gloriously pink and pristine blue with streaks of gold and white.

When we were stationed in Virginia, I remember the weather got down to 9 degrees. We really can't fully appreciate something sometimes until it is gone.

Here are some pictures from our first snow in Virginia in 2009!!

Remember this?: "Rain rain go away. Come back on another day."
We should be grateful if another day even comes around. I have decided to take what comes and to make the best of it. If my plans are changed, I believe it is all for the good.

We built a fire every morning and each evening. It gave us time to communicate. My mom made warm and comforting meals each night and it was good!

"Bampa" took us for a ride to get out and see some scenery, and he took Robbie to a doughnut shop, where Robbie chose his very first doughnut!

My mom and I caught up on lots of reading. I am currently reading a wonderful, helpful book about children from a Christian perspective. I aim to finish it before I discuss it further.

Robbie is fascinated with his new learning toy. It is a pegboard with round discs that have a hole in the middle. He has learned his colors with this great tool - purchased from the wonderful learning Store. Gi Gi said we can make many of these toys ourselves. It is the concepts that we love.

Robbie was able to speak with his Daddy who is on a "big, big boat" Rich calls us sometimes, and Robbie is so thrilled that he dances around when he hears Rich's voice.
I request and truly appreciate your prayers for our armed forces!

Today was a quiet Monday. Robbie, Gi Gi and I went to a park and we collected little pods which fell to the ground from the wind. Gi Gi and Robbie are going to make a wreath from these precious pods.

Even when you don't feel happy or joyful, rejoice in the day anyway. God is quick to fill us with His joy, especially when we thank Him, and confess our true feelings to Him. He is our perfect Father.

"This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it." Psalm 118;24
Every night after Robbie takes his bath, he and I review our days with each other. It is amazing how much information a 20 month old's little memory can absorb.

Our neighbor has an owl that hoots every night.Robbie was frightened from it, so I decided to introduce him to owls. We went to the learning store and purchased some owl stickers for good behavior. My dad is going to get Robbie a stuffed owl. Gi Gi is constructing an owl out of pine cones for Robbie. (Pictures to follow- in case you would like to make a pine cone owl too.) I want to share this very dear video I found to share with little Robbie. He just loves it.
Tomorrow, God-willing and if the weather permits, we are going for a walk to collect leaves.
Rain is predicted again for mid-week.

 I leave you with this:
"Receive God's blessing. I will send you rain in it's season, and the ground will yield it's crops and the trees of the field their fruit, your threshing will continue until grape harvest; and the harvest will continue until planting, and you will eat all the food you want and live safely in your land." Isaiah 45: 8
We need to drink in all of God's blessings and thank Him daily for them.
" Land that drinks in the rain often falling on it, and that produces a crop useful to those for whom it is farmed; receives the blessings of God. BUT, the land that produces thorns and thistles, is worthless and is in danger of being cursed. In the end, it will be burned."
Pray that our "land" produces things pleasing to God, and that we will live accordingly. Our children live what they see.

Robbie and Mommy bundling up for our walk.

Happy Monday!
Blessings,
Sarah
